I have looked all over the crypt many times and just cannot find where the gavel must be. I've been given the quest by the guard captian so I just MUST be missing something. If anyone could just please let me know where I might find it I can move along..(and feel silly when it's likely somewhere I've looked right past)

If you have the right quest in your log but if you did not complete talking with the captian you did not get the update for the quest so check your log to see if the quest is properly updated. It should say to get the gavel and when you go near the room the light will come on. If your not sure go back to Elddim and talk to the captian again and be sure to click on more before closing. Then go back to the Acient Crypt to get the gavel. Use the small teleporter to aid in this quest.
