Im only new to ds

Yip I aint been playing for long and I cant get out the otherside og the mines but my map not working and i aint good at orientation so dont follow the compass

Did you get the quest to find the missing miner before entering the mine and did find the missing miner? If not the door wont open. Go back and talk to the fighter outside the mine.
