wondering if you could help

problem:cant get diablo (the first one) on battle.net. i bought this as i have diablo 2 (and lod) and think battle.net for it is great so i bought diablo thinking it would be to. but the error message says-unable to connect to battle.net . if you are using a modem to access your service provider and are not configured for dialup networking, you may have to initiate the connection manually.

i have broad band and am not good with computers.
please help

Have you downloaded the latest patch? I belive it is necessary to connect to battle net.

Do you share internet connection with other computers, or do you have installed a firewall? Those things might cause problems.

If you open the registry editor, does the two folders "HKey_Local_Machine\software\battle.net" and "HKey_Current_User\software\battle.net" exist?

i am on version 1.00 is that the latest patch? thanx for the help so far will check the other things but i do have a fire wall but i granted diablo acces to the internet.

what is a registary editor?

The latest patch is 1.09 I think, and can be downloaded from http://www.blizzard.com

You start the registry editor by selecting run from windows start menu and type "regedit". Try to find the folders I mentioned there.

i have a problem where when i try to get on b.net it gets stuck on cheocking versions but i have the newest patch
