Pets on veteran level

Would I be right in assuming that when you start the game on a higher level of difficulty, the pets you acquire are still suited to mercenary level? Because this would make them woefully underpowered for the increased challenges.

I started a pack mule on veteran, and its "mighty kick" does 234-390 damage. That seems reasonable for level ~55.

So, essentially it gains "punch" to its main attack much as a human from raising the appropriate combat skill. Thanks!

My understanding is that since u keep getting new summons every few lvls and your intel only gets higher they scale nicely. At 62ish Taar's greater scorpion does at least modderate damage altho the armor and hits are to low to be useful really. I figure its just another small bit of dmg on top of her 2200 dmg spells and healing hehe.

I wasn't asking about summons. I was inquiring about pets.

sorry hehe i have a habit of callin the summons pets since they are animals too normally. misreading ftl
