Anyone experience issues with BG2 and win ME? I keep freeezing maybe 20 min into the game.

This might help... type Windows 2000 in the search option at the top right corner of the page. I read some of it, might help you.

I managed to play through the entire game using Windows ME. Typically, the game would play fine for about an hour, then get get exceptionally slow. I don't think it ever locked up on me - it just became unplayably slow. The final battle, for example, took me over two hours to play because the system became so ungodly slow (and I couldn't save in the middle!)

The only solution seemed to be to save, quit, and reload (and probably reboot, too).

Someone on this board suggested that I close out of all background programs except Explorer and Systray. This generally extended the "quality play time" but did not eliminate the problem.

Someone else on this board noted that this is a standard problem for BG/BGII - probably not just related to Windows ME.

My experience is identical to jdougan1's. I didn't attribute it to ME, however. I always felt is was a case of my video card (geforce2) not being 100% compatable.

Turn off environmental audio (yes, even if you have a super fast machine). It fixed the slow-down/ lockup problem on my computer.
