Set doubles and triples

I keep finding the same set items over and over again. I must have found the Dirk for the Shadows set about 3 times so far, the helm twice, and many of Lorethal's set items a few times (the helm, the mace and the gloves...haven't found any of the others yet). Is this normal??? I would like to find the rest of the set items, even new sets...not always the same ones!

My find magic items is between 60-80% (I can't remember the exact total). Does this have anything to do with it? I know I also find lots of rare items. Any insight would be welcome!

Alas, the game creators does not know what the meaning of unique and set items, therefore you found duplicates of unique and set items.
I've got myselft 2 "almost" complete lorenthal set.
I only got 1 complete set, can't remember the name, it's just 2 rings & one amulet.

However the problem here is not the "finding magic item skill"
I once tried to put all equipment to my leading character, which can boost this stat up to nearly about 100% chance of finding magical item.
And still it doesn't always give you a magical item everytime there is a loot.
I think the game calculate this percentage in a different way.

Aside of that, I think a set item does not give you a powerful bonuses even if you gather up most of the item in the set. I could be mistaken, But that is what I experienced. Maybe someone who's been playing veteran and the hardest game level could share another opinion?

I too have found several copies of supposedly "unique" items - both set items and the purple uniques. It looks like the game designers do not know the meaning of the word "unique."

They're still unique - there isn't any other item in the game with those abilities.

And the magic item chance + is relative. So a +100% chance means double chance of finding a given magic item.

So - that was meant to have a smiley, right?

:)

By that measure, every item in the game would be "unique" - the "Rare horrendous raven gloves of the rat" have a different combination of abilities than the "Rare horrendous raven gloves of the weasel..." and so forth, but none is considered "unique."

Unique means "one and only one of these exists" so when I am simultaneoulsly carrying 3 different copies of "Demonstring" somebody has messed up....
