Perhaps a tank is a good choise? I have a tank and a dual-wielder in my party. Although dual-wielder has the highest damage, her armor doesn't high enough. So I need a tank to use Provoke at any time to protect my d-w and mages.

I thought the higher difficulties were easier than the mercenary difficulty. When I played veteran, I just auditioned a bunch of pets, and then when I hit elite I didn't bother adding a sixth character.

I have 5 characters.
1 - Tank - Armour heavy w/ prevoke. - Auto casts Combat magic debuffs
2 - Duel Weilder. 1k dps not bad armour. - Casts nature magic +Crit dmg (bear form)
3 - Dru - Nature Mage - Primary healer and summon and buffs +hp
4 - Forgot name - Combat mage (fire) 1.3k dps and has summon
5 - Lothar - Combat Mage (Lightning) 1.1k dps and has summon
This is at Vet level I think. I'm nearly finished. So far unless i restrict myself this game is a breeze. Even the jump from Mec to Vet didn;t cause me any problems.
