DII_11b - Slowdowns with automap

Post by Borsook »

Hi I'm expieriencing severe slowdowns when automap is displayed (regardless of the options) I have Athlon XP 2.2, Radeon 9600, I had a few months break from D2 and needless to say when i played before I did not have this... Anyone also suffering from that?

No, I am using a mod that increases size of inventory, that's all.

Ok, the problem persists with or without the mod but disappears if I turn 3d acceleration off. Maybe some 3d driver setting are causing this?

Diablo 2 is like a Lada with square wheels when you use 3D acceleration, because Blizz never finetuned it. The best way to improve your framerate in Direct3D mode is to download and install the Glide Wrapper, this will activate support for 3Dfx Glide drivers and make the game run much smoother.
