Nefarian died

So last thursday my guild killed nefarian for the first time, and I have to say that altough it was a fun fight it was not very challanging. Nothing like Vael and chrommagus. It took us one ful evening of attempt to take him down. It's only really phase 1 that's remotely hard and the transition to phase 3, but besides that it's just a regular tank and kill the mob fight. I'm really dissapointed at the ease with wich we killed him.... hopefully Ahn'Quirai's end boss will be more challanging.

uhhuh... now seriously.. good for you and your guild that you're so good.. but nefarian has been killed by only one alliance guild in my server AFAIK and those guy's take the game rather seriously i gather.. so to anyone who's even played as little as i have it's plain obvious you're in a guild where every member has epic sets and ragnaros is killed between breakfast and lunch..

the guild i'm in is planning to attempt ragnaros when ppl get enough fire res gear etc, and we haven't even taken down onyxia yet although some attempts have been made.

We were the fifth guild on our server to kill Nefarian, three alliance and two horde. So we are not that good a guild at all. Yes we spend quite alot of time raiding, but if you compare Ragnaros with Nefarian (including the gear you have to have at the point when you reach the respective boss), Nefarian is a way much easier fight as it doesn't require all your raid members to have 120+ in resistance.

Sure most of our members run around in all epics, but then again we've been raiding MC since early May. All the epics in the world did however not help us when fighting Vaelextraz, which took us about 2 months to figure out how to do, but it did help us against Nefarian.

I just thought that it was a huge anticlimatix to be able to learn and master the encounter in one single night, and wondered if anyone felt the same way.

hehe, my guild just started BWL, and as far as I am aware no guild has killed him yet on my server ;)

Grats though ;)

yes grats indeed.. didn't include them in my first post..

now that i know what you mean i can understand that why you said nefarians easy... you meant compared to other bosses in BWL etc... so it's like jindo/hakkar in ZG then eh? and there's some way before we're able to go to BWL.. we've been doing MC for 2months now only i think.. not sure tho..

my guild has taken major domo executus down twice i think, but we're still dying alot of times there in a row before we beat that guy.. for some reason 10secs after we kill the 5th add it goes hell in a hand basket and we lose.. it's always after the 5th add that we wipe if we wipe.. we could use a couple of better tanks imo ;)

We have absolutely no problems with Hakkar in ZG, but we have huge problems with Jin'do (partly because the raidleader never wants to go for him, so we rarely gets practice)
Last time we got Jin'do to 20% using a nifty trick including some warlocks and some very angry superimps ;)

wasn't there when my guild took down hakkar and jindo but everyone said hakkar is a complete wuss but jin'do was a nasty mofo..

i wouldn't mind getting that jin'do's bag of whammies off hander ;)

yes, exactly like the jin'do/hakkar anology. Hexxar is still hard for us, eventhough we are all geared out in BWL epics by now. If you don't kill the ghosts fast enough the encounter easily goes out of hand as all the ghosts tend to interrupt the healers so that the main tank dies.

Right now we are farming like mad to open up Ahn'Qiraj as fast as possible. I've so far cookied about 700 lean wolf steaks since the patch :O, there is no chance that we will open up the gates first in Europe, but we stand a good chance to be top 10 :D Now I have to get back to killing wolves ;)

Hakkar is incredible easy, but of course you need to know what to do and that makes him easy. We haven't had much difficulties with Jindo either though.

However, we are stuck on Vael...(something) the Corrupt in BWL and have only moved onwards from him once (and made it through Broodlord??). Something about Vael. encounter just doesnt' like us. We even had him down to 1% one time when we wiped ... oh the agony.

Molten Core is farming now for us and we are trying to speed-run through it, which would be easier if we were decked out in epics (I only have 1 myself :( ), but we have done just over 3 hours now for an entier Molten Core run, which is pretty decent for a non-hardcore guild as ours with a healthy mixture between casuals (me) and more hardcore people.
Or next goal is to kill Raganos before he spawns children... was only 23% off last time.

is hak the end boss in ZG? if so dosnt a raid have to beat the smaller bosses before going after the end guy?

Hakkar is the "end" boss of ZG yes, but you don't have to kill Jindo to get to Hakkar. (for some reason).

Update on our BWL progression then we are now battleing Chromaggus... annoying dog for priest characters.

Well - we got Neferian down this saturday after a couple of nights training on the phase 1 spawn.
We had terrible luck throughout BWL with spawns, culminating in 3 weeks of Red Drakanoids, however last week was Red/Green instead of Red/Blue as the two prior weeks.

However, once we got the phase 1 down to perfection, it only took some 3 tries before we got Neferian undercontrol, and Phase 3 was easy once he was under control.

We even managed to do the first kill with 36 people and the 4 rogues all died in the first "Rogue call" (making our killing force 32), but besides them, only 1 more died for the rest of the fight. (Not bad for a first kill)

This fight is in my book more difficult then Chromagnus (he's a wuss) and on level with Vaelstrass(sp?) which I love as a priest, but it is mostly so because of Phase 1, and if the healers aren't aware of the Priest/Warrior calls in Phase 2. (One of our priests did land a 1K per second DOT on the main tank beacuse he failed to see the priest call).

Anyways - was a nice culminaiton of time spend in BWL, and now we are gearing/looking foward to AQ opening on our server. (likely still a couple of weeks).

Fun to be able to be casual player and still see the end-game content :)

We just started Nefarion last week after having progressed through BWL faster than any other guild on the server. (3 weeks)

We've only tried him one night though, so we've only gotten him to 99% or so :p but we got phase 1 down pretty well. phase 1 is hard as pala because I have to tank, especially since I am healing specced with not a single point spent in protection

Chrommagus was really fun though, first time we got time lapse and burning flesh and wiped like we did back in the days on Magmadar. However, the second night we tried him we got the blue and green debuff so we got him down on second try, was great fun! ;)

Well - once we got him under control, we have now downed him every week since, withouth greater difficulties.
However, it would be fun/nice to have a week without red drakes, because they are a tad more annoying then most other :D

Anyone of you been hanging out in The Temple of Ahn'Qiraj yet? We opened the gates this sunday, and so far we've killed all bosses up to Princess Huhuran (except Vicious) and I have to tell you that it's alot of fun. Some of the fights are quite insane , one boss clears aggro completely every 2-3 seconds and does a wirldwind attack for about 2000 dmg on clothies like me :)

We got Princess Huhuran to 9% before this reset and I'm quite confident that we will get her in the next reset. Haven't tried The ruins of Ahn'Qiraj yet but some guildies of mine finished it earlier today and there seems to be some quite fun enqounters in there as well.

I don't know how far the guild is in AQ, I've not had time to join in having to work like 60hours a week for the last 3 weeks. And thus I've not played WOW a lot.

We've only done the 20 man part so far, it's quite nice, going quite slow though, as we have only 1-2 days to spare for it, due to 3 days bwl, 1 mc and one ZG, and one day off.
