Hellfire Torch

hey all,
I've just been playing single player and have collected the 3 keysets, legit.
now, when i go to act 5 hell mode, and put one of each keys in the cube, i can't transmute. please tell me what i'm doing wrong!

the hellfire torch is only avieable(sp?) in battle.net.. so it dont work in SP
the reason for them not removing the keys, is that they dont waste time on it. easier to leave it as it is!

srry for this noobisch question.. but could you tell me what these keys do? or how i get them? ive got Diablo II LoD v:1.11

No questions are "noobish" on this forum!
The three keys are items needed for the quest that was added in 1.11, but it only works on Battlenet.
Hell Countess, Hell Summoner and Hell Nihlatak has a chance to drop a key (1/34 I think). When you cube three different keys in the Horadric cube in Act 5 Hell, it will open a portal to a monster. You should wait until you have 3 sets of 3 different keys, then cube them and open all 3 portals in the same game. Each of the three monsters in the portal will drop an item after you've beaten them. Again, cube these 3 items in Act 5 Hell and you will get a portal to Tristram. There, you will have to fight beefed-up versions of Meph, Diablo and Baal, and then the Hellforge Torch will drop.

I looked up the exact numbers:
Key of Terror (1 in 14 solo runs) -- Countess
Key of Hate (1 in 11 solo runs) -- Summoner
Key of Destruction (1 in 12 solo runs) -- Nihlathak

okey.. i got 3 keys (hate, terror, destruction) i gathered them in singleplayer
but when i try to use them online it doest work.. is this because i got a buck.. or is it just the wrong online version.. i tryied on open battle net

I'm quite sure it only works at closed Bnet

CE is right, it only works on closed bnet, not on SP, open bnet or TCP/IP.
