Yes, you leave it right after you have killed the first boss.

I must admit, I do envy you a little bit..starting out new to the game. I would love to be able to play D2 again when everything was fresh and unknown!

I agree with you. I remember how fun DII was when I was first getting the hang of it. It's still fun to play now, but it was the best when I was first learning about everything.

Ah this changes everything then. If you are playing Diablo 1 then the answer to your question is no. Diablo 1 is basicly a dungeon crawler. Tristram is the town you embark from on your quests and you basicly work your way further down into the dungeon under the town.

I believe we all assumed you were referring to Diablo 2 because that game is more recent and has a wider player base. In Diablo 2 you are able to explore other towns as you progress through the game.

Diablo 1 is a great game too! Although it is not as fast paced or as big and varied as Diablo 2, it has better music and a better ambience imo.

Once you have played Diablo 1 through, I highly recommend trying out the sequel.

Yeah, I definatly liked the way you could still cast as a warrior or rogue etc. Plus the music is obvioulsy better. You never forget your first tinme though Diablo one.

To defeat the Butcher, you can get a bow, and hide in a lock able room. The fool will chase you and sit about whilt you pepper him.:mischief:

:-)
Great, now you guys made me buy Diablo 1.

My brother even wanted the game, so I bought another this morning.

Sounds different than D2 LoD, which I'm playing now.
I prefer D2's outdoor areas, as I can run away :-)
But, one big dungeon crawl will add a different tactical/strategy perspective ... like a whole new game
Thanks for post here; as I wouldn't have noticed it otherwise.
Too bad for those on the D1 board, as I'm sure they will be tired of seeing my newbie questions :-)
Hope they have some stickys.

Wait wait wait, since when in Diablo 1 can you leave the starting town? There is only 1 town, and you just go into a dungeon within that town.

Diablo 2, yeah, you go to 4 or 5 towns (based on if you have the expansion), but Diablo 1 there is only 1 town in the entire game I thought.

Prolly has somethin to do with Hellfire, never bought that....
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.
It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

Nope, they just added a character (Monk) and two new levels (Hives and Crypt) with two new bosses (The Defiler and Na-Krul.)

Blood_Raven, I appreciated your input in this thread, but you are continuously bumping old threads. You may not be getting your PM's or even seeing them, so please check the top right corner of your screen.
