I'm getting pretty frustrated at this point. I've got a level 98 Grand Master character that has 90 melee, 90 ranged, 60 Nature Magic, and 88 Combat Magic, on top of all this, he has all the best equipment for every type. I'm getting frustrated because I really wanted to get this character all grown up, however, last night, I was wandering around working on getting my combat magic up in Upper Zaramoth's Horns, when all of the sudden, the game had a bizzarre crash that I haven't seen before. The screen glitched and looked basically like a woven basket that had been pixelized. Anyways, I reset my computer, and went to go play again, because this character is really addicting. I double clicked the shortcut icon, and it opened up the launch screen and it proceeded to the black screen with the little periods in the lower left. Unfortunately, this is as far as it will go. It loads up 10 periods, and doesn't do anything else. I've tried all the troubleshooting methods from the website, -including- reinstalling the game, however, it still will not proceed past the black screen with periods.

Anyone ever have this problem before? If so, did you fix it, and are there any ideas out there on how to fix it? As I've said, I tried the troubleshooting page provided by GPG and none of it worked.

Did you try the back up saved files?

I just recently had this same problem. I tried a lot of different mehtods i found all over the net and nothing worked. Finnally i bit the bullet and backed up my comp and reformatted.. game worked like a dream after and i just reinstalled my save files.

Yup, I cracked. I reformatted as well.
