2.28G isn't enough space for the 2.2 patch?

I run the 2.2 patch and it fails with the following error message: "There is not enough free space to update, please free up space and try again."
The problem is that my only Hard Drive has 2.28G of free space so it's hardly the problem.
Anyone had this problems? Any idea how to solve it? I have probably now a mid corrupted installation but install again will take hours and will be quite boring, so if I can avoid it...

I think you need roughly about 3.7 Gb (or even up to 4) free in order to run the patch. There were quite a few people with this problem it seems, and it got solved by freeing up some space.
Incredibly stupid when you think of it, I mean that much for this?

Man thanks for this hint, I tried free up to more than 3Go and tried again with the same error. At this point alas I hasn't seen your hint and uninstalled the game and curently install it again.
Time lost but your hint will help once reinstall will be finished and when I'll try again the update.
I have tried search in the forum to find posts about this problem but didn't found any.

I hope it will work, just after the patch came out there were people complaining and they came up with this as a solution. I'll cross my fingers for you.

Yes it worked thanks for the help. Strange bug, even the original game doesn't require so much space.

I'm glad it's fine now
Yes, that is the point, I mean I see it as a sign of really bad programing on their part. And I've been cruising the web for a while now due to DS2 and some of their answers for this, as well as the unsolvable (so far) problem for NPC corruptions really makes you think about what on earth are they doing?
