??? Enemy

I am playing my first go through of DS II and twice I have encountered a ??? enemy..The only thing it says is ??? level 100..I can hit it, but don't do any damage..I haven't noticed if it drops anything for me, like they one in mysterious quest does..I happened in the Hak'u caves, when I went to fight the upsurper and agian in another cave..Any ideas???

There's only one ??? enemy in the game, the one from the mysterious quest.

Now i'm playing as veteran but in mercenary mode it happened this ??? apperead at least a dozen of times ... i couldn't be able to kill it even if it seems to me the more you damage its health the more it drops rare objects ...
And about this mysterious quest .. i've never heard of it before..
where do you get it ?

the link "Lore of Aranna" doesn't want to work..
i can't recall the quest... can you refresh my mind ?

It's an Act Three secondary quest. I fixed the link on the Mysterious Quest page.
