Finala elevator activation *spoiler*

Does anyone know what Finala needs to do to activate an elevator. I was in the Kaderak mines and was prompted to use Finala to activate a lever for an elevator, when I commanded Finala to open the leaver it didn't get activated. Please help

Do you have the Morden wrench and elevator gear or it doesn't want to trigger it even though you do?
