Story line for kotor III
i think it would be cool for kotor III to pick up right after u left off when u see the ebon hawk fly away.
at beging of game you should somehow load old character and go from there.
If ls player u must help rebulid republic and usher galaxy into new era of peace...also should build a new jedi acadamy and be able to bring back anyone u meet on ur journey and see if they r force sensitive and if they r train them. some would be regular party members while others would just stay there or join u in the final fight which would be against a revamped mandalorina assualt for both ls and ds players
If ds player must go about forming an amry to take over the galaxy sorta like the empire.. after you defeat the mandalorians also could build a sith accademy. could make alliances with bounty hunters and smugglers and such
idont know thats just me but i think it would be cool

at beging of game you should somehow load old character and go from there
meaning you would load ur player from kotor II or the player would be custom but youre still the exile picking up where u left off

Did you not understand, I think thats its pretty obvious, you get consumed by Malachor when your dark side, and you just fly off if your light side, do you want to be just sitting there trying to escape Malachor? It gets destroyed, The Exile is dead, and if your light sided, then you just continue flying, until you decide that you want to help revan.

However it starts, it'll probably be only a couple months after the exile goes to Malachor V. G0-T0 predicted the Republic would collapse in one standard month if things weren't improved, so that's my reasoning on why it'll be so soon after Malachor. But the thing is, the Exile is now pretty powerful, you don't want to start out with some big all-powerful character, let's not even consider which way KotOR II ends. Besides, whatever happens in III will be fresh, just like it was in II; fresh start, fresh new main character, won't be aligned one way or the other.

my idea
heres my idea for a storyline in kotor III. You are a former jedi that turned criminal, you ahave been caught and must escape out of the jail your are being held in. The guards are mercenaries not actually official "guards" this way you can bribe them or something. the next planet you get to lets say kashykk you help Wookies escape from Wookie hunters and as a reward you get a lightsaber, you get to design it though. (thats it only beginning)

I think they will have the Exile choosing the light path.
They will most likely design the story with the Exile choosing the light path. I would make sense since they made Kotor II with Revan choosing the light path. You may say they never really said but heres my take on it. On the Unkown world if you chose to join Bastilla you then go back to the Ebon Hawk. They figure out your going to go reclaim your thrown and then you end up having to kill Carth, Mission & Zaalbar. And yet in Kotor II you met up with Carth. Pure proof that Kotor was made with the thought Revan chose the light path.
Im sorry if this in any way is a spoiler.

Spoilers
You don't kill carth, he runs off and you don't get the chance to see him again, he tries to take Bastila with him, but she won't listen.

I think they're leaning Light Side as well...
If you think about it, not many mainstream RPGs let you decide your 'alignment'. Usually you're there to stop the evil menace. "You were the Chosen One!!! You were supposed to destroy the Sith, NOT join them!!!"
::Sigh:: Anyway, I just figure that Lucasarts has more hope for humanity than choosing to kill every innocent and capitalize on others' losses. They ultimately probably expect people to be somewhat reasonable and humane and follow the LS storyline. Then again, people play Grand Theft Auto and get off on blowing up old ladies and such. Hmm.. Because honestly, it sounds stupid, but when you make your choices in KOTOR, pretend you're really Revan or the Exile. Would you really truly harm unfortunate people or treat them in a malicious manner?.. Or would you act as a Jedi with respect and honor? Me personally, I chose the LS every time because, and again this sounds ridiculous, but I couldn't stomach the Dark Side. I absorbed myself into the role and made the decisions that I would personally make in the situations. The fact is, if you all as human beings would truly act as one whom wields the Dark Side, then I really have lost hope in humanity.

this game was meant to kill off the first game
everything that happens in this game was meant to tie off the stoies started in kotor 1.
Think about it all the areas were you leave in kotor one unresolved, like korriban and dantooine, you come back and learn what happens. I believe that this game was obsidian entertainments way of ending kotor 1's story so they don't have to keep making sequals that have to do with Revan and the exile. Theory: I believe the Meatbags at Obsidian have a really cool idea for Kotor III but it didn't nessisarilly have tied into the original Kotor's story so they kill all the sith lords and Jedi masters so they can create a brand new story with thier own characters and thier own ship and don't have to make it conform with Bioware's original storyline. they are giving themselves artistic freedom for the next kotor.

by C 2 the J
kotor 1 is light kotor 2 is dark..
kotor 2 is made to be played in the dark side... who would really forgive the weak jedi for exiling u... its much better to get your revenge on them....

Revan and the Exile
C 2 the J's view can be authenticated, if KOTOR III were to perhaps sign you up with one against the other. Maybe each with their own of a disk 1, disk 2 scenario. All I know is that the Jedi Order has to be restored somehow, somewhere along the line well prior to 4,000 years later, so I figure Revan and the Exile together, or one against the other, will be responsible for bringing it about. Kreia mentioned to my LS character that the followers of the Exile were the new Jedi. If that were to become true, then KOTOR II can't be intended for DS. Also, I don't believe they'll abandon the Ebon Hawk in K3. If they do, then C2theJ would be accurate in his assumptions. But if the Ebon Hawk makes an appearance in the beginning cutscene, then I'll be ultimately convinced that Lucasarts is favoring LS endings throughout the trilogy. I just hope that I don't have to deal with another unexplained blank slate of an ex-Jedi with amnesia or another Mandalorian War general or someone's Force-sensitive janitor that crawls out from under some rock that noone's ever discussed in the first 2 KOTOR. I'm not feeling the whole broom or mopsaber vibe, but after meeting GO-TO nothing could disappoint me as much anymore, so I guess we'll all just wait and see and play the hands we're dealt by Obsidian when that time comes.

KOTOR III cool storyline
I think it would be awesome if they were able to tie in the KOTOR series with the original star wars series. In the first series you were a mysterious jedi trying to "find himself (herself)" again. In the second one y ou learned that the force was not as black and white as you thought. Similarly, Episode III revolved around the same theme. What is common to this theme? The prophecy? What if in KOTOR III Revan went "beyond the borders of the galaxy" and found the TRUE meaning of the force. In doing so, the prophecy is somehow established. IT'd be cool.

@fozzy: That would be a good premise for a third installment. Since it also ties in with the evolving view of the Force in the Star Wars movies, that would make sense. After all, it can be generally assumed that Obi-wan uses a Dark Side power - rage, perhaps - in his various lightsaber battles in the series, particularly against Darth Maul. Obi-wan tends to be more of an offensive Jedi when he engages the enemy. This could point towards an actual unification of the Force, since intent seems to be the deciding factor in what the Force does to the user that channels it. KoTOR 3 would a great way to gel this together.

cool storyline
Thanks for the approval. I thought about this as well. If Kotor III did use the establishment of the prophecy as a premise, then such a foreshadowing to Anakin as the one to balance the force could be used as an excuse to make three more star wars movies based on what could be argued as some of the most beloved of the star wars lore, kotor.
