I'm new to D2 and just had a couple of questions. Ok here's my first problem I am working on an aveneger build, but the guide I'm using is for version 1.10 and I'm playing version 1.11. In the guide I'm using it says to put points in fire resist, cold resist, and lightning resist aura. It says to do this because it will give a bonus to vengeance. I was just wondering if this is still true for v1.11. Second question is this, when I created my character there was a box to check that said expansion character. What does this do I kept it checked, but I'm not sure what differance it makes. Any advice would be helpful, and thank you in advance.

The synergy works the same in 1.11, so your 3 resist aura's will add to vengence.

There are two versions of diablo II. If you play the expansion, you need the expansion disc, and you get access to the druid and assassin classes, and you can only play in expansion games.

If you play "normal" diablo II, you get nothing that was added in the expansion, and need the regular D2 disc to play. so leaving your character on the expansion was a pretty good idea, and that's probably what you will want to do with all your chars (although regualr d2 is also fun).
