Random Pits in Vai'Lutra forest

I keep coming across these random small pits in the vai'kesh forest. Several have contained mobs that I can kill via ranged/magic and drop stuff I can't reach and I just came across a pair blocking access to a health pot bush. Is there some way to raise the pits - a switch or something?

edit: err, the Vai'Lutra forest. Right next to the teleporter and amren's ring of mushrooms.

If there is a switch, there would be a little blue bar on your mini-map. If you don't see one near you, then there's no way to get in there.
