Hey guys. I just bought Planescape a couple days ago and I have two EXTREMLY newbie-like questions:
1-Where are places that you can rest? I have look around for inns but can't find any of those, and when I try to sleep in the streets it says that it is to dangerous.
2-I looked at my character sheet and saw that I have 4 unused proficioncy(sp) slots. How do I use them?
thanks for the help

There's a flop house in the section of town east of the mortuary. You have to find a trainer to be trained to increase proficiency. The first one is right near the flop house. You'll have to do a small quest for him before he'll train you.

1) Places in the Hive where you can sleep:
- NE sector - Open Tomb & Angyar's House (after you help him)
- NW sector - Flophouse
- SW sector - Office of Disease and Vermin Control (ask the man inside how he ended up there)
- Ragpicker's Square - Midwife's House (ask Mebbeth if you can sleep there)
[/list=a]
2)Allocating proficiency points: There are several people throughout the game, who, when you talk to them, will train you in different weapon styles. Each time you train in a style, you add another * to the corresponding weapon proficiency. You must have the fighter class active when doing this.
*Note - It really pays in this game to talk to everyone with a name, including your party members.

Throughout the game, as you complete quests or meet new people, places to rest become available to you. Don't worry, there are plenty.

Really, you can *try* and sleep anywhere--if it's not allowed, you'll know at once. Abandoned houses (truly abandoned, not used but currently empty) are good choices. Be sure you save before sleeping in potential battle zones, however.
