Where is Nordom (having read the NPC guide)

The NPC guide says in the maze. I've set it to hard, beat the wizard, and I assumed one of the Modrons at the start would join you. None have.
Please, don't tell me he's actually somewhere in the maze on Hard. It's so unbeliveably boring!

I want Nordom. I didn't get him last time through, I want him this time.
How does the cube get the blade?

OK, found out. Got off my butt and searched out the answers. Man what a pain to find just one NPC and a scroll

Beat the wizard again, then talk to him. He'll vomit some good stuff up and gain stats.

Besides, he's got a romance with Fall-From-Grace.

You lost me a bit there
. Go back into Dungeon and beat the Wizard for a second time, is that what you're saying?

I misspoke. I'm not sure, but I think that some new options appear when you speak to Nordom only if you defeat the wizard with Nordom in your party.
I meant talk to Nordom, of course. Sorry about that.
Final note. Once I got him, my characters for some reason started to interact with each others, like in BG2.

In reference to your spoiler......I've never seen that happen.

If you kill the Evil Wizard construct with Nordom in your party, you can open up new dialouge options that will improve Nordom's stats and give you a spell called Enoll Eva's Duplication, which doubles everything the target does, twice the spells, twice the damage, ect. (Note this only applies if you are a mage with INT 16 or higher. Other classes get other things which I don't remember.) If you have a very high Charisma, you can also tell Nordom to become "greater" and hit stats will improve again.

There are actually dialog triggers to improve Nordom's stats *3 times, in 3 separate areas.*
As to not bothering with the maze--hell, why not? It's a great area. Consider:
On the moderate and hard dungeon settings, you pick up good experience easily, while knowing what the threat will be as you enter each room.
You get plenty of good stuff, especially a variety of magical bolts, stat-enhancing items (specifically, lenses) for Nordom, wands that summon modrons to fight by your side, and stones that permit instantaneously travel anywhere on your home Plane.
Even if you don't want a lot of that stuff or overload, you can sell it at some excellent prices. The maze is a fine place to build up funds.
You get Nordom, the only character who has a longrange attack.
I repeat, what's not to like?

That'd be the fact that it is a highly tedious and repetitive dungeon crawl in a game that's good for its dialogue, not its combat.

Well, okay, maybe there's that.
(You *do* know that it was also planned as a satire on just that?) But since many RPGers have also played some of he most repetitive dungeon crawls in existence and enjoyed 'em, this is only one more.

I believe Ingus does also have a long ranged attack

@Quitch and RPgeek: I don't exactly think Nordom and Fall from Grace are having a romance, but they are giving each other a series of very cute compliments every now and then. Sounds quite flirtatious and very entertaining
Re: Dungeon crawls - I actually don't enjoy dungeoun crawls, but this little crawl was well worth it, I thought, for the reason Fable mentions.
I think Nordom is a great NPC. He's funny, he has very entertaining and interesting dialogues if you talk to him, and his attack is very good once you have upgraded him. Ignus also has a long ranged attack IIRC, but not nearly as powerful as Nordoms.
Upgrading Nordom can be a bit tricky. If you wish to be spoiled, read this thread were I describe all 3 upgrades.

The convention I've seen (and I'm writing this just to argue the point) is to refer to long-ranged weapon attakcs as simply long-ranged attacks, while magical attacks, unless they're area-based or touch-based, are simply called magical attacks.
So when I wrote long-ranged attacks, the assumption was that everybody would know I meant "with the use of a weapon."
