how can I import my DS2 character into broken world, should I place my savegames into a special map or something?

I had a saved game from finishing Vet Level in DS2.
When I loaded up BW, I clicked single player; then Convert Hero; hit Next arrow; select DSII: Broken world. In the next screen I chose the difficulty level.

The game started and my original party was on the screen.

it should find the DS2 character as long as DS2 is installed , it found mine just fine , unfortunately i restarted DS2 lots of times and lost my higher ranged player , but at least it allows you to start a new one ... i didn't know you could use all the added characters from DS2 , i found them in the town after i already grabbed 3 others to help , anyway not far into it and have found plenty of enemies ... and quests

when I click single player > convert, my DS2 character just doesn't pop up, it just says 0/0.

I did notice that I wass still running the original 2.0 version from DS2, so I tried to update to version 2.2 but after doing this DS2 still says it's just running 2.0

Yes I am having the same problem, it does not register my character from DSII. Does anyone have an idea what to try? I even tried switching around save games etc, no go.

As for the game patch, or version, the BW actually runs the game with v.2.3 so no need to patch it. It does not patch the game per se, so if you run the original game, it won't show, but if you start it from within BW it is 2.3.

Are y'all using a saved game where your hero finished killing Valdis? Because if you aren't, your hero won't pop up.

Well I am in the middle of Elite (the third level of diff, whatever it's called), if that is what you mean. I killed Valdis twice now, but it seems stupid that I can't import a character even though I've finished twice because I'm on diff 3. I don't think that's it really, I mean I know other people have issues as well and it seems more the case of version compatibility than anything else. Am planning on trying with AllSaves for BW version so we'll see.

Installation & Use

Install by running the DS2BW_AllSaves_v1.msi installer.

Then use the new created "DS2 Broken World AllSaves" shortcut to play.

- Allow any savegames to be loaded by the game. This program will not fix Dungeon Siege 2 crash related to savegames. It will just allow the game to recognize any savegame version.
- An experimental "SeeFar Hack" slider has been added to the loader so people can play with it to enjoy far view while playing.
- The camera has been tweaked to be less restritive whatever are the internal map settings.
- The new shortcut can accept any Dungeon Siege II:Broken World command line parameters.

Fantastic, Ashen! I also have an elite party but had not killed Valdis. Now I can import this party.
