Would appreciate any incite as to why in veteran level I cannot "release" anyone at the in. Since you cannot have "two instances of the same character" I was wanting to dump one of mine. But the release button is greyed out.

I have dug around on the forum trying to find anything about this...with no luck. ...and just got my computer back up and running...(you know the money thing). So I appoligize if this question has been asked and answered a thousand times over, but any help would be much appreciated.

You cannot "release" party members other than your pets. Looks like you tried to get someone in your party when you already had them from Mercenary. If you send them to the inn you can replace them with the same ones from Veteran, however you will lose any items that you had on the previous characters.

I have the same problem - I want to drop the character that came with my leveling for the one standing at the gate but it says I already have that member in my party. I'd hate to have to start over ...

If you purchase a few pets so that former party members end up on page two at the inn, sometimes you can release them then.
