What's better for defence.

I was wondering if someone can say is it better to be a defence+warfare (Conqueror) or defence + rogue (Corsair)?
Or any other with defence.

If you have the 1.20 patch, I will say that there is no difference in how powerful any build is. Every skill there is, is pretty much of some use. Titan quest has enough of that extra "oomph" in every skill to make them all useful, and therefore you can pretty much go any route and still be able to succeed in the game.

defence is a very good basic mastery for a good fighter, in titan quest also if you choose to use a shield+ sword youll be able to be better then any othr fighter cause the most powerfull items in the game for fighters are for defence mastery charecters =\
also defence mastery as EXTRA powerfull skills such as shield charge (?) and colosus.

I have defense/warfare and me like it very much.

For starters of the game I'd suggest defense for sure. It sounds like a defensive mastery, but it has loads of offensive skills in the trees.

And the best part is, collossusform, if ya max that, strength is up 50%, damage dealt 50%, damage taken -50%.
And ya can use all the other offensive skills while in that mode, so shield smash and charge do uber damage also.

Only tricky part is to find good equipment to keep up yer resistances, elemental and poison that is, pierce and those others can be upped through skills as well.

I've been doing a Warden (lv47) = [Defense + Hunter]. And its uber fun. I've got a +2 to all skills ammy, and Hunter gloves (+2 Volley)...which allows me to fire off my passives: [Shield Smash, Disable, and Pulverize], each 18% of the time. Plus Volley triggers 20% of the time. Also, there's a 18% chance Gouge will give me some bleed damage.

Rally and Adrenaline's Defensive Reaction gets my Attack Speed up to 190% from 166%, so the passives trigger quite often and fast.

I haven't tried any other Defense Combo, but the Warden holds its own in Legendary Mode with a fair amount of ease. It beats playing my Battlemage in Legendary were I'm quaff'ing potions every other second or so. lol.

Collossus Form is somewhat of a joke. As you won't be able to use it again for a full 5 minutes. I was amazed by its recharge time that I decided no-thanks.

The recharge time is indeed a real pain, but the thing is, I don't need it all the time.
Ancestral guardians recharge is a lot less and I have a certain skill that ups yer defense pretty much for a period of 1 minute, so...

Only time I use collossusform is with a boss or with a situation where I'm under heavy arrow fire, which is pretty devestating if yer on legendary and there are like 8 archers firing away at ya....gets kinda painfull if ya don't watch it. hahaha

Yeah, since I'm now doing runs in Legendary against bosses...I too now use Colossus Form. One plus is that its darn near impossible to die while in CF. Plus I get 34% Armor Absorption from Armor Handling and Quick Recovery and the natural 66% Armor Absorption...so my armor absorbs 100% damage. My shield blocks 650 dmg 91% of the time with a 0.3sec recharge in blocking (so basically it blocks 650 dmg almost at 100% of the time). [Spear has: 27% Attack converted to Health, 31%reduced resistances for 3.0s, and a huge amount of damage, plus +18%IAS]. [Black Dragon Shield: +35% Less damage from beastmen...so the Legendary Minotaur barely scratches me when I'm doing my Knossos runs]. Herbal Remedy gives me 7.2 Health Regen/sec. Adrenaline gives me 33.0 Health Regen/sec. Rally gives 150% to Health Regen, so with Adranaline/Herbal Remedy and +XX%Health Regen equipment...my Health Regen gets up to 186.42 Health Regen/sec. Sweet.

Yep, its good to stay alive. I don't know how any other character even survives in Legendary without having to tippy-toe around taking it safe 100% of the time. :)

Hey.
Im playing with a Corsair (Defence + Rogue) and im loving him!
I do uber damage and can take even more.
I can weild a sword for quick attacks against big groups and switch to a spear to do heavy damage to bosses.
All in all, im having lots of fun with him!

I'm still doing knossos runs on epic and also running forth in legendary, I do the levelling on legendary and when I'm nearing a level up, I'll do runs on epic knossos to be sure I don't die before I level up.

when I'll be lvl 50, I'll have all my skills right, so then it'll be a lot easier on legendary, I need better equipment, still playing with my green sabretooth sword. :)

Each defense build has it's own strengths but the best are definately

Conqueror: (Mace/Shield) Playing a Dual-Weild Conq. is fruitless. Basically this build combines good Offense with great Defense. It also allows access to Collosus and Ancestral Horn superskills. Plus the stun mod of Concussive Blow enhances your WarHorn.

Warden: (Spear/Shield) Combines the two highest DPS/DPH weapons in one build and has great Defense. Need I say more?

Juggernaut:(Mace/Shield) Highest HP Regen, Juggernaut is unkillable when played right. Also has CoreDweller which can help keep some damage off, Eruption which does massive damage, and once again Concussive Blow will enhance stun duration of Volcanic Orb.

Also don't discount Corsair and Paladin both can be very powerful when played right. ;)
