557 armor leggings found in normal level with player level 31

Hey guys first post here. Look what I found!

Tailboom :: Untitled :: 557_armor_level31

Is this normal?

I found it at one of the silk road venders. was over 2 million to buy. This a typo? how do i really know i have 557 armor added to my char? all other armor is in the range of 50-80 at this point in my character dev.

What do you all think?

I'd almost think it is a glitch in the game.

I mean, copper stuff is usually around 50 armor, not tenfold. :)

But I'd look in secondary stats when ya look in yer inventory, there ya can see if it really adds 557 armor

thats a 55 or 57 armor+
if it was real then it was an epic-legendery colored in the propper color (blue or purple) and its a regular armor :)
must be a bug like ultima says, what version are you playin?

on the screen it says 557. like i said, bought it at one of the silk road vender's. I saw it once, and did not have enough cash, but it kept coming back with different costs. finally was able to buy it. I am running version 1.20 of the game on normal level. Is there any way to confirm I am truly getting 557 armor when it comes to damage? In a broader term, how do you know what damage is going to armor or health?

Additionally I found another set of leggings with 557 armor. this one has + dexterity too. I am waiting to find a good item to enhance it with.

See the srcreen print here:

not sure the 557 armor is actually being used. I started collecting a set of the imperial armor, got the leggings and put them on. my character does not seem to die any faster. I would really like to know how much damage is being absorbed by armor. Is there a way to tell?

Being a programmer, I can see it possible that the display value for armor amount actually being different then the programing value being used to calculate battle damage. I suspect this could be the case here. But without knowing how much damage armor is taking, there is no real way to know for sure.

66% of the armor value is used ot negate damage, this % can be raised with skills like armor handling or quick blocking (maybe not the exact name).

I think the correct term is indeed armor handling and the other would be quick recovery, but that only lasts for so long.

Other skills that enhance that in defense mastery are:

Focus
defensive reaction (needs adrenaline)
and some other stuff.

btw, I found this armor at Knossos yesterday:

Rhesus' Whitewashed Armor
198 Armor

25% Pierce Resistance
25% Elemental Resistance
25% Poison Resistance
105% Life Leech Resistance
+15% Energy Regeneration
+52 Offensive Ability
+19% Total Speed
-13% Reduction to All Requirements
+60% Damage to Undead

Required Strength: 428

Is legendary equipment, actually pretty nice armor. :)

Yeah, I've seen several of those 557 Armors...but, I don't dare pick one up out of fear that it will corrupt my character and character's data.

Wow, I found Rhesus' Whitewashed Armor on the same day you found one. Neat. Cept I got mine in the 2nd Telkin's temple in Eygpt (epic mode).

The 557 Armor Items are bugged but they DO actually add 557AC.

I've seen them a lot too. I never aquired a set as they cost a fortune. Not sure if it is a type of Easter Egg or a glitch.

picked 557 armor up off ground

I have seen a lot of 557 armor for sale but I actually picked it (557 Leggings)up off the ground today (I am at level 29). It does add 557 to my armor totals but I am not sure it really "Gives" me that much armor. The armor I replaced it with had a armor of about 60 and to be honest I seem to be taking about the same amount of damage. I will continue to experiment

I haven't played titan quest for awhile so I could be wrong but I recall reading an article on titanquest.net explaining some of the mechanics on armor. Yes it absorbs 66% of the value modified by armor handling. I have 2 things to add one widely known is piercing goes through armor. Second armor isn't just 1 generic number but is more complex. Example if you have a glove of 1 million armor and your character screen says that you have 200,000 armor but are wearing no other armor you still suck because there is a roll to see if each hit hits your glove, head, foot, etc and if your head has no armor but your foot has 10 billion armor the foot doesn't help blows to the head. Thats an extreme example used to make a point.

Check this second point I could be mixed up but I think its true.

557 Leggings

I have found several varieties of the 557 leggings. They may not make that much of a difference because physical attacks randomly fall on one armour region. Enemies have a low chance of hitting your head, arms, and legs. They have a high chance of hitting your torso. See page 60 of the manual for clarification.
