I have a Earth based character, level 26, just started Babylon.

Now, I just took all the points I had in Volcanic Orb (+all the improvements, of course) in putted them in Eruption. which was nice since I had a lot of extra points to spare in invest in other skills.
I read in some guide, that Eruption was stronger, thus making more damage per cast. but, as I started using it I noticed it had a much longer recharge time.
Also, the Volcanic Orb is "thrown" from the caster, and some times gets stuck on some object and gets wasted. while Eruption is simply gets created where u click.


so, what do you say: Volcanic Orb or Eruption???



BTW: another short question for you:
does Brimstone

"Boosts the physical damage of attacks and provides a chance of causing critical fire damage while under the effects of Earth Enchantment."

so does it effect only melee weapons? or does it effects Staffs and bows?

Eruption though Volcanic Orb might actually do more damage if it hits since it has 2 synergies to go with it. The thing is like you've said, it takes some time for the orb to reach the target and the monster might have actually moved away, wasting the orb. Later mobs probably move faster and have a longer range of detection so the orbs might not be as useful.

Brimstone enhance all attacks with fire damage that I can be sure since I've tried it during MP and my caster used it, both my friends within the radius got an enhanced fire damage to their melee and bow weapons too.

Also, would you consider and Earth ONLY build a strong character in relation to other builds, meaning other classes???

If the new 1.20 patch does what it's supposed to do, it should be equal with just about anything you do with your character (aside from purposely nerfing it).

So whether you go earth/spirit or earth pure, you should have just about the same power if you play semi-intelligently.
