well, I recently made the move to epic with my Earth based mage. im currently lvl 33 just after Sparta. anyway, on normal I could use any sort of staff I found and most the armor, beside hardcore fighter ones. I manage to so by putting point in Int and in Str. but now on epic I can't use **** from what the merchants sell... not armor and not even staves! it's like the game a "jump" in the lvl of the gear.
a good example for it will be, the Firewalker's Suit (http://www.gamebanshee.com/titanquest/s ... rssuit.php) whitch I found only the Greaves of the Firewalker from. my point being I can't use the damn things because it requires 382 Str! ain't suppose to be a mage set ?!?!
(btw: in the guide it says 356 and the armor in 80 while on mine it's 144, not sure why...)

this is really becoming a prob for my char since I essentially need to put points in Int... but apparently to use good gear I need lot's of Str...

any advice on what to do?

btw: forgot to mention, my Str is currently 257 (can boost it with rings and all to around 300, but will lose much of my DPS)
and my Int is 312+-...

Isn't firewalker's suit more for juggernauts and battlemages? Characters who are basically warriors (loads of strength) but use earth mastery? Anyway I'm not fond of raising strength on mages can't really help you
