Hey,

Does anyone know the best monster type or area to find a Dionysus Wineskin shard from? I'm one shard away from creating a nice artifact.

I know spectral matter usually drops from Wraiths, Ghosts etc. but I can't figure out what drops Wineskin shards. From the name I would guess it should be in greece but I've read both opinions if a special area appends to charms and relics or not so I'm a bit confused.

NOTE: I read the sticky about not asking for areas for items but charms and relics were ok right? ;-P

monster charms come from certain monsters but relics come from anything. in greece you will get only greek relics whereas in egypt you get greek + egyptian; orient you get greek,egyptian, oriental; finally hades you get all types of relics.

So I would look in greece and kill lots of monsters plus open chests, bones, etc.

Yes, Relics and Monster Charms are alright to ask about. Though I will say that, as always, it's completely random. There really is no "best place" to find them other than what region it's associated with. Relics with greek names from greece, Egyptian named relics are in egypt, etc.

Not to be annoying but are you sure that they are completely random? I can almost swear that spectral matter has a higher drop rate frome "magical" monsters (ghosts, mages of different kinds etc), or that maybe only applies to monster charms?

monster charms are not random but relics are. Spectral matter is a monster charm and comes on things like ghosts. poison comes on spiders. carapace on mantis. saberclaw on sabertooth tigers. peng claw on peng. etc.

A monster charm takes 5 pieces to assemble while a relic takes 3. Relics are imo a little more powerful but monster charms can be more suited to a char if they got the type of bonus you seek.
