DSII-Broken World - Deluxe Ed. Is the CD broken?

I don't know what's going on with this thing.... first I had trouble (still do when rebooting pc) with the playdisk 1 for DSII executing (I am forced to keep ejecting and replacing the CD after the repeated error message "Please Insert Disk 1" until it finally reads the .exe, but, now that I've finished that part of the game, and now have the desire to complete the expansion due the anti-climatic finish of DSII, it won't read that disk at all.
Ok.. I did try to search these forums for a fix or similiar issues and found this: http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/dunge ... 83372.html
However, it says nothing about DSII/Broken World Expansion. I did take a peek in my player.ini file, and there is nothing in either the gamespy page, or even a page for the s/p option.
Has anyone gotten through the expansion? How was it?
Sheesh... I'm so frustrated, was really looking forward to seeing what I've read about on the preview page here.
I did d/l the two updates/fixes 2.1 and 2.2, but they don't seem to do anything that I've noticed. Could someone please let me know if they ran into an issue with the .exe of the Broken World playdisk, and if so, how they fixed it?
Thanks all....

I'm not sure what's going on with your copy of the game, but here's one thing: the patches are for the original Dungeon Siege II. If you're playing the deluxe edition, then your game should have started out with version 2.2. Perhaps installing the patches caused problems.

Nice to know, but the CD didn't want to work b4...
I d/L'd the two patches, ergo, why I thought the patches were needed. And, I saw where someone had made a similar post relative to the Deluxe edition, could not get the first playdisk to load the .exe, and were told to d/L the patches. So, I simply tried that first as I had the same problem with the first disk and loading the game on my system from the beginning, as well as with the Broken World expansion.
If anyone else knows what is up with this thing, please respond, all suggestions will be considered. Thanks all....

Well.. It's been a month now...
....does no one have a clue what might be wrong here? I tried playing on the net to see if it would load DS2-Broken World's game after I beat Valdis; that was a no go.
Still can't get the darned CD to load the x-pansion
Oh, and by the way, as for the patches, the original CD wouldn't load until I executed the patches, and still won't if I shut down my system then try to restart the game. I must first hit the .exe file for the 2.2 patch, then the CD takes off. Strange, huh?
When I go to the Windows Unistall program, it says I've been playing DS2 BW, however, it is not. I don't have the same creatures y'all speak of here, and can only go as far as Valdis. HELP PLEASE? Suggestions, PLEASE? I just wish to finish this game.
Thanks all...

Bot an answer, but maybe a helpful fact.
I play on the DSII Deluxe Edition pack and my version is V2.3
I'm not sure as to why your DE is on V2.2, but I was a late-commer to the DSII scene due to RL cash flow (or lack thereof ^.~). What came before, I ahve no idea, but what is being sold in the stores today (or at least about 3 months ago) is V2.3

without sounding defeatist, you may want to consider uninstalling DSII and BW and starting with a completely clean re-install. If you want to retain your saves, search the forum to find the filenames and where they are stored, back them up, and then copy them into your new installation.
Good luck
PS - after completing DSII at all 3 levels I've played BW at the 3 levels and have not encountered any major blocking problems

I did exactly this the night before last, and Whaala... it is now running. I also deleted the updates 2.1 and 2.2. However, when I was installing one problem still arose. The first two disks installed without issue, but, disk 3 hangs badly for some reason, and I still have to re-insert the darned thing a million and a half times before it executes the auto-run. The same thing happens when I reboot my system and try to use the .exe for either DSII or DS2/BW. So, ya got me.
All my other games and disks execute just fine in the event anyone is thinking what I first thought, "maybe my CD/DVD is on its way out" if this were true, every, or most, disks I use would hang up. Guess I just needa keep the monster up-n-running 24/7 till the game is over. Thanks all..
