Well, They have been known to disable runewords.

Can anyone recall the 1.07 version of Breath of the Dying?

Yes, they do disable some runewords in new patch, but as far as I can recall it's usually mentioned in the patch's readme, so I would say that if there is no mention of disabling certain runeword, that do work in newer versions...

Though not sure about 1.11, but it was so at least in 1.10...
