So I have been skimming threads and what not, especially things like "best build", and it occurs to me that people might mention a specific skill and recommend it be maxed out. This implies maxing out the talents one chooses is not the norm. I have found that when I play games and try to spread myself too thin I become weak and ineffectual. But at the same time, I miss out on many abilities that I might otherwise be able to employ. I even saw a person suggest filling up a mastery right away before devoting to skills. I am trying to consolidate all of this into one thread to figure out what people find works best for them.

Also, on the topic, do any other storm callers actually max out the nimbus and its two subsequent skills? Or does that get kinda useless? I see almost no slow retaliation from frost nimbus and I'm thinking I was an idiot to think that the "+X% cold/lightening" damage included that of your staff and other abilities... I originally assumed the nimbus increased all lightening and cold damage you did with weapons and spells. Just like the weapons or amulets that to "+X% bleed"...
