hello
recently i started my ds2 adventure but in chapter 9 of act I i found some troubles - after entering the windstone fortress i cant fullfill the quest about the missing squadron, i cant gent into the room where private banos is. when i stand in the hall all i see is a black hole inside the doors and i cant get inside the room. that room is not even marked on the map. i have english version of the game and it's v2.0, i used shield of azunai and valdis sword mods. anubody have any ideas how to fix that?
then i installed the v2.2 patch but it didn't help at all, what's worse i found another locations like that in the temple of xeria and i can't move on in my adventure. here are som screenshots of what my problem is:

I had this problem with Dungeon Siege (the original, not 2) at times. However, for me the problem was only until I restarted the game. The downside was I normally lost my advances as the game wouldn't save at that point. In fact, if it did save, it screwed up my save files and I had to start all over.

I'm not sure if it can be fixed, but I will advise if you ever see a "missing map" or "blackness" again, do NOT save the game. Take the loss of time and jsut quit without saving. Rather to lose a few hours than days/weeks of play.

Though my tech knowledge is limited, I believe this is caused by the game not seeing the map files. Once you save your game, you save the new "missing" map over the old one.

The only way I can think of to possibly restore the areas after a save is to complete the game in Merc mode, start the Vetern (or even the BW game) then go back to the Merc game. This ~may~ reset the map as it reloads the whole new world map. However, if the game saves the "known" map in your saved files, then it's prolly a loss and either you ignore that section and hope it doesn't affect you later on and is only confined to that mode and at Windstone. If you move to Amin'lu and find a missing map after that, I'd advise chucking the game and starting over :(

Some one with a good deal of technical know-how might be able to help you repair that saved game. Beyond my skills :(

Black holes

I had that problem, too. Turns out I had to buy more RAM for my computer in order to get past Windstone Fortress. Check the bottom of the game box and see if your computer meets those specs.

Hope it helps! :)

I've got exactly the same problem in the same place, and I'm running 2 Gig of RAM so I don't think that's the answer. (Min Ram Spec. is 512 Mb).
