Joining games problem

does anyone know about the SmartHeap memory problem that occurs when you try and join other peoples games online? I recently started getting the problem, which prevents me from joining other people's games. I've searched the internet a bit to find a solution but have been unsuccessful so far... help!

The only solution I ever found is the Broken World expansion unfortunately. SmartHeap is exactly what I meant by "corrupt" in my reply

here 5th reply down - Vitamin Carrot has gathered a few links about this. I doubt there's a solution in any of it, other than buy BW. I can't say if it'll fix your present character, but you should have no more corruption with a new one.
