I was fighting the Dragon and my party was wiped out. When I respawned and returned, the Dragon did not and has not after several repeated attempts. Cannot complete task. Is there anything I can do ?

Have you tried talking to the gate commander again?
Or tried to fire the ballisata (even if the dragon isn't there see if you can fire it/select it).
Short of those two suggestions (which are long shots), I don't have much of ideas.

I think there was a bug that prevented the dragon from reappearing sometimes, think i saw that on the 2.2 patch notes. If nothing else, hope you have backups of your savegames.

If you search this forum for "dragon" you'll find some possible solutions for your problem.

Look there. The links to the fixes and instructions are within that thread.
*sighs at how it's just as easy to post a link as to post replies that aren't really a help*
Also, while this may work, I don't call it a "fix". From the lack of actual fixes, I'd say this is a game-stopping bug that can only be gotten around by editing the actual game files.
What causes the bug, I'm not sure, but I'd guess a corrupted save file since reloading the game from scratch doesn't change a thing.
Word of caution: If this stops the dragon from appearing in Merc mode, it may do so in all modes. I've never experienced this bug, so do not know.
Unless you have a character and equipment you are totally attached to (and yes, I understand that feeling) you may want to try with another character.
Best of luck and hope it all works out for you.

"Give a man a fish..." If you learn how to answer your own questions, then that's the best solution of all.

That's why the posted link.
Add to it that the forum search engine here had glitches and didn't work on some words ("find" was a search stopper for a time which made "Magic find" search useless), and you'll find that leading the horse to water works just as well. Can't make them drink, but once they're shown once, they tend to follow the same path.
And yes, I do understand the frustration that can come as a moderator (I do on two other forums) and hearing the same question over and over and over. Usually the questions are always asked by new people, however. This can be solved ~mostly~ by actually putting the FAQ in a handy spot *looks for a FAQ and then shrugs* May take a bit to make, but saves time typing and stress of moderating in the future.
