In the first two kotor games you survive after fighting the boss.
In this one should you die, survive, or have the option to die (eg sacrificing yourself to kill the bad guy)?

Doesn't it kind of depend on what the story is?

It sohuld probably depend upon how well you do in the game:
If you complete the game with great results you will live.

If you complete the game with moderate results you can choose.
If you complete the game with terrible results you will die.

I think you should be able to choose I think it would be cool to see how it effects the end

I could see a lot of complaints were you to spend an entire game building your character up only to destroy it at the end. And as I'd really like the game to carry on once the story mode is done, I wouldn't like that at all.
BUT
It could be part of quite a cool quest - there's a similar one in Morrowind, where you basically have to die, then you're resurrected. If there was a really tough quest where a possible LS option was to sacrifice yourself, and if you had just enough LS points and powers you could be brought back... just thinking aloud.

What if your character became "one with the force", like Obi Wan and Yoda in the films. But you'd become so powerful in the end that even though your physical body was destroyed, you could still appear in the physical world. That would mean you could appear in later games, as maybe a mentor for other Jedi like Obi Wan was for Luke.

I think it should depend on what side you choose...
If you choose LS you sacrifice yourself to save the galaxy...
If you choose DS you kill the enemy and take his position of power and DOMINATE :mischief: kind of like in KotOR I

Definitely choose. Although maybe choosing death may not necessarily be to stop the bad guy, but in some way allow your allies to escape otherwise certain death. Just no crappy endings as a result, please...

I think that only if your LS it would be a choice weather to sacrifice yourself or do something else and if your DS you should have the chance to kill your NPC's or something like that

that didn't seem like a bad idea until the resurrection part. either death or life, no death then life. if that were an option, then i'd demand that the movies be remade and Quigon is brought back

I believe that, if the KOTOR series stays with this idea, that you would live. Kreia does say to the exile: "Perhaps you will be there at the end of all things." and so far that hasn't happened.

"The end of all things" is quite a strong and perhaps metaphysical statement... sounds like a judgement day or armageddon or something. In that sense, "being there" could refer to the Exile being alive, or being absorbed in the force, Obiwan-style.

One of the Reasons for an MMORPG is to have a game that never ends. So this being said, I think that the character that you create will live. We may get to fight Revan but I find that unlikely, because everyone here had Revan looking different. Even after we "finish" the last mission, bioware is going to continue to release new missions and we will still be able to play other real players.

I'll have to go for the "choose" option.
Why keep the choice between life and death? Because experience's shown that people won't ALWAYS be paying a monthly fee to play an MMORPG and they will want to give such an epic game an epic ending. Right?
Even if there's no such fee, it wouldn't be KotOR without a clear beginning & end.
