well, i decided to be a ritualist (dream + nature )
my character is melee with distortion wave for range. instead of using the healing tree, im using trance of convalescence and boosting my health reg to currently 60 per sec and planning on passing 100 ( i know most of you wont agree on this tactic, but not having healing frees my attention and allow to cast other spells, thats just my thing..)
so - my current problem is that - i noticed that on a usual basis my character handles very well, but to most boses (and typhoon in paticuler) i seem not to cause enough damage, and my pets seem usless..
si i thoght, perhaps i should abandon my pets for other melee attacks (such as phantom strike ) insteed? then i thought, what is the use of nature mastery without pets but for heart of oak?
what are your thoughts?

Your pets are going to be vulnerable to area of effect boss attacks. I think if your going to be a ritualist there is no point in not using pets. But ACT 4 normal is going to be very hard. You might spec out of pets for that act.

I have played an Illusionist (nature + rogue) and in epic and legendary the boost to the pets is quite big. I would take the healing tree to keep them alive. The wolves also need survival instinct (about 7 pts is what I used). Finally you have refresh so if they get 1 shotted by boss then they can return soon. Try plague/fatigue which makes the pets much better as it debuffs the enemy. Finally get some points in temporal rift and its synergy so you can petrify things and help the pets (I used flash powder).

All I can say is max out Sleep from the Dream tree. This basically will put to sleep whole clusters of monsters with a single cast and has a very quick recharge so you can cast multiple times.

Also don't forget the Nightmare pet....essential pet for boosting the potency of your wolves/nymph.

Good luck
