Titan Quest Won't Work

I tried opening and it goes to the normal black screen, but doesn't go further. Then my cursor flashes slowly.
PLEASE HELP!!

Have you reinstalled it?
Do you have the system requirements for the game?

Yes, I have the requirements. But it's working again now
Also, if I did re-install it, wouldn't I lose all my characters?

Nope, those stay behind perfectly in tact usually.
