If I've miss-allocated skill points on my character, is it possible to reset it?
Like, on my Paladin's tree I put points into the wrong skills, so is there some function/quest/NPC I can get at that will reset all my points so I can redistribute them?

It is impossible to reset your skill points.

Download a mod called PlugY (Googling that term should be the first result that comes up.)

Damn.
Well, they should really consider implementing it for Diablo 3 then.
It'd be super handy.
Oh!
Thanks for that link!

Note that PlugY is a cheat mod that can only be used in single player mode. It is banned by fair trade communities because it allows for illegal modifications of the game. So if you play legit, or on Battlenet, you cannot use PlugY.

Umm, what now? Since when is modding diablo 2 illegal? Or are you talking about something else?

I am talking exactly about what I stated above; that PlugY allows for modifications of the game that are illegal in fair trading and online play.

I highly doubt it's illegal considering there isn't one mod out their where people profit from its download, and those are usually the main concerns of alterations or modifications in games.

Siberys, we have had this discussion before and I suggest that you refrain from recommending PlugY to new members without mentioning that it is a non-legit cheat mod that can only be used in Single Player. If you play on Battlenet, installing PlugY will make it impossible to continue to play on Battlenet. If you play Single Player, installing PlugY will ban you from major Diablo trade forums and communities.
PlugY and other cheat mods are not illegal according to national or international law. It is not illegal in the same sense as it is illegal to rape, murder or rob someone or to trade with heroine or amphetamine. PlugY is illegal in a game sense: it is non-legit. It is banned from fair trade and player tournament communities and it is not allowed to use in multiplayer on online play. It is illegal in the same sense as maphacks and duped items. PlugY is a third party software that is not endorsed by Blizzard. Among other things, PlugY allows for character editing (alternation of skill points and stat points), it enables features that are not in Single play (Diablo clone and uber Tristram) which means you can get items that you are not supposed to get in Single player (the anni and torch). Furthermore, it enables Ladder only runewords. Taken together, this means PlugY contains features that makes the game significantly easier. Thus, it is a cheat.
This doesn't mean it is illegal or even immoral to use PlugY or other cheat mods when you sit at home and play Single Player without trading or participating in tournaments. However, it is a fact that PlugY is non-legit cheat, and as such it is banned from communities who play the game legit. It is important that players are aware of this before they choose to install a mod like PlugY.

Ok, then I misunderstood, I apologize.
Just a quick note though, I wasn't arguing whether it was a cheat or not. Just whether it was legal and in what sense.

There is a variety of third party mods (and hacks) for D2 as for many other games, and it's of course fine to use such mods as long as it is either in Single player or at Open Battlenet.
I just find it important to point out that PlugY and other such mods can't be used if you play at closed Battlenet (ie normal online playing) and that it will ban you from the major D2 forums. It would be a shame if somebody who plays at Bnet installed a mod like PlugY without knowing that it makes Bnet play impossible, or if somebody who plays Single player installs it without knowing that it makes trading at for instance at the Diabloiii.net forums, impossible.

It's fine really, I don' play on BNet.
And when I saw the exact description of what it does, and the possible ramifications of using it outside solo play became quite clear.
My only reasons for using PlugY were for increased bank size/skill reset.
Personally I think it foolish to make a game where the only way to fix a misclick is to remake your character.
That said if I were to play on BNet I would most certainly
NOT use it as I fell it would indeed put me at an unfair advantage.
