hello, I'm a new member of GB and I need some info about how someone can be able to hold two torches at once,because I was just scammed by this guy who said he'd give me a ptorch for by storch and since it was low,I went for the deal.he showed his ptorch to
me and so I dropped mine. He immediately took it and left. any help on the matter would me appreciated. Thanks in advance

Best thing you can do, never trade by dropping your items. Use the trade screen, that way you can see exactly what you're getting before you even confirm that the trade will happen.

But isn't it that you can't hold more than 1 torch at a time and you can't trade any other way aside from dropping?

It's true that you can't hold more than one torch at the same time, so there is no way you can trade safely with people you don't trust. I never trade online because everything is duped, so I don't have much experience in the matter, but the best thing I can come up with is that you place yourself in one corner of the town and the person you trade with place himself in the other. then you both drop your items at the same time, and if he doesn't drop his you can pick up your item before he is able to reach it.

I've encountered duped SoJs, but never torches.

If someone drops a torch and tells you it's this and that, have them show it to you first.

Example: I tell you that I have a 19/20 Ptorch and then I drop it. You can't pick it up because you have a 10/13 Ptorch. So you drop yours and I pick it up, while at the same time you get the torch I dropped only to find out that it's a Ztorch.

The best way to trade is in Act one. Only do it in act one. Just with you and the trader, otherwise the trader's friend can come in and get your torch.

Anyway, you drop yours one one side of the wall where Akara stands and he drops the torch on the other side. Then both of you WALK (not run) around the wall to get your torches. Again, make sure he shows it to you in the trade screen first.

I think the best thing for me to do would be to try to be more careful and more suspicious next time when trading torches (or anything for that matter) and by the way, i did see his Ptorch in the trade screen. Thanks for the help everyone.
