Level 5 or something. Go for the highest Thief level that still allows you to regain your inactive class at the TotSC cap. That's not really high, so you'll have to put plenty points into Find Traps from the beginning.

However, I went through Durlag's Tower without ever disarming a trap. Sure, it's annoying, but it's not hard.

I dualed her at level 6 so that she could still attain the highest mage level with TotSC. I maxed find traps to 100% and relied on potions for the few locks she couldn't handle.

I dual-classed Imoen when i entered Cloakwood mines... she was level 6 and i though i would have plenty of time to get her level 7... BUT... now i'm in BG and she is only level 5 and i'm about to go to CK for the second time... i have done most of the quests in BG except the IRon throne... i would really like to have her thieving abbilitys when i enter the catacombs... Any help??? Any quest where you get lots of exp??

Good levelling spot: the Flesh Golem cave behind the Sirines on the coast (where you find one of the Times). 3 out of 4 rests, you'll get a Flesh Golem that you can kill for 2K XP.

Sleep outside the cave if you feel lucky, and take on two nasty Sirines that Dire Charm your Fighters. :D Also 2K a pop.

Du you have ToSC installed? Try these new areas, especially Durlad's Tower. Or try to do every single quest in BG city.

Remember, there may be a difference between maximum levels, and maximum MAGE levels.

Note that the unofficial "expansion" is for all intents and purposes a completely different game from BG1 and is unsupported by Bioware, etc. For this reason, it is not completely clear how and if characters from Dark Tales of the Sword Coast will import into Shadows of Amn/Throne of Bhaal without problems.

Installing Dark Tales of the Sword Coast WILL change your BG1 files to the point that you will not be able to play the original game unless you uninstall and reinstall all game files. Read all information on available at http://www.dsotsc.com/index1.shtml carefully prior to installation if you are considering this.
