Drakensang Storyline?

Hey, I have a few questions. I heard that Drakensang is an RPG with a great storyline and in an era that's pretty dry in the RPG genre, I've been searching long and hard for a good RPG game with an impressive story.

I have one question though...

I heard that Drakensang has a "talent-based" dialogue system. Does this mean the story is dynamic i.e. Mass Effect or KoTOR where there are multiple plot lines and endings to the game (excluding side quests).

Also, is the system like Elder Scrolls?

I'm looking for a game where the storyline isn't dynamic (sorry, but I'd prefer a story instead of just building one myself). I hope Drakensang is what I'm looking for :)

Thanks for any help

I thought Drakensang was fun enough, but I wouldn't say it has a "great storyline." The writing is fairly decent, but the overall plotline is standard. You build up your character to defeat the evil boss at the end.

Drakensang uses talents instead of skills, including a few social talents that can affect your dialogue choices. But there aren't many branches in the quests, and they all lead to the same place.

That answers my multiple ending questions thanks a lot :)

I want some clarification however, are the plot points the same regardless of how you interact with NPCs as well?

Pretty much.
I'm not that far in the game yet, but there have been one time where the outcome of a quest was slightly different. A guy that you eventually will have to kill, will either have minions help him or turn on him depedning on the order you did things. There's also a place where you have to choose what faction to side with, the quests you do will be different but I think it'll end the same thou.

Ok thanks for your answer.

Although the whole dynamic interactive storyline thing worked well for Fable, KoTOR and Mass Effect...now EVERY single game is copying that and that is not exactly a full proof system.

Sometimes I just prefer to sit through a story instead of being forced to play mix and match and make one myself (i can write my own fiction for that).

Just wanted to know if Drakensang is like that where I'm forced to mix and match the story together. Glad to see it isn't
