GoG release of MM6 Limited Edition

Unless GoG was thorough, the Limited Edition needs its own special patching procedure(check the MM6.EXE version to confirm if it's version 1.0 or 1.2). See my site at DaveO's Looting Lore and Sacred Underworld Single Player site for the 1.1 to 1.2 upgrades(if you want them) and please follow the recommended patching. I checked the Mok's links, and they're broken. Find them thru the TELP M&M boards.

P.S. - I already have the Limited Edition with the Dragon holograph, and the extras which was only $20. I'm not sure what is included to run the older games, so I'll add the DOSBox site link DOSBox, an x86 emulator with DOS

I'd use versions 0.65 to 0.72. I've heard of issues with the latest DOSBox release.

Edit - I almost forgot that version 1.2 of MM6 introduces the door bugs for two separate dungeons. Just search for Mok's patch on the TELP Taverns and you should be ok.

Ok, I got confirmation that the GoG version is 1.2, but it still may need the Mok patch to truly fix. Version 1.2 of MM6 introduces door bugs in the dungeons of Castle Kriegspire and one other place.

Has anybody ever posted a patch for VI that allows you to add info or change it on city maps?

To the best of my knowledge, the standard MM6 never had a patch to annotate the map. There is a mod to MM6 called the Chaos Conspiracy, and it may add new features like the one you're looking for.

Doesn't appear to, from the discussion, and it's no longer on the modder's site, so it's moot. But thanks, anyway. The lack of annotation was something of a negative for me in M&M VI, given the large number of nonfunctional buildings that had been added. NWC realized this later, as you know, and changed that in M&M VII. (Ironically, the team hired as their replacements for M&M IX made the exact same mistake.)

DaveO, do you happen to have a copy of Mok's MM6 & 7 patches? The only link I could find to them on TELP's tavern was dead. I did find Grayface's patches to Mok's Patches, though...

Here's a working link to Mok's MM6 patch. Let me know if you find a way to get his MM7 patch, as that's vanished completely.

Thanks, fable. I only have a link to that other MM7 patch, which is supposed to include Mok's.

I found a file called mm7_engpatch_xp.exe or something like that on my PC, and it called itself MM7 v1.21 patch. It lets me run MMVII on Vista, as long as I skip the opening cinematic. (The 3DO logo). Do you want it?

Yes, please. Though I'm running WinXP, I'm pretty sure it'll work.

It was intended for XP anyway. :)

Sorry about the late reply on my end. I should have checked the links from my Web page. I'm willing to provide my Mok patch files to this site for hosting or to answer future requests for them.

Might want to contact BuckGB about that. Thanks for offering, though. :)

Thanks fable for the reply! I did send a PM to Buck, so hopefully the files may be available here soon. I'd put them on my Web page, but the personal webspaces provided by my cable company are limited in size.

Unfortunately I've run head first into the game killing bug that DaveO mentioned, and evidently either Buck didn't receive/read DaveO's pm or decided not to post the patch.

I've tried searching for the patch without success.

For GOG to put out a game with a terminal bug in it, especially one that comes so late in the game (I encountered it in the Superior Temple of Baa) is rather slipshod to say the least.

One major problem, I found and installed the patch DaveO referred to, and when I try to launch the game it now demands disc 2. So sadly that patch is not a solution.

You should play their version of Divine Divinity then. Virtually unplayable. There's a patch underway, though.
Anyway, galraen, I could send you that file as well, if you want to.

Thanks Gawain, but I found the file, but now can't ply the game because of the demand for the game disk!

For all future replies about the GoG version, including bugs and other issues please PM me and I'll be more than happy to work with everyone individually to get them a copy of the applicable patch file. Please make sure your email address can accept .EXE files. I'm looking forward to a bit of activity.

P.S. - Don't blame GoG for the current issues with MM6 Limited Edition. Not everybody can be completely thorough, and the Mok patch is fan-based. I do believe GoG re-releases with all OFFICIAL patches and not ones that come later down the pipe. I would not know who to contact at GoG to make them aware of the situation.

P.S.S. - I don't have sufficient space to host the files individually, and I don't want this thread to turn into GameBanshee bashing. I've made my offer, so let's just leave it at that.

Just came upon these, which appear to work with Mok's (if the modder's correct).
