I wanted to do the planar sphere so I put Valygar in my party. As soon as he opened the sphere I kicked him out of the party. (he didn't kill anyone). Is this considered as not soloing? I don't think so I had him in my party for 1 minute and that was to open up the sphere.
Ps. I did the sphere, damn those halflings and their maze and domination spells @$#@^#! I am now a 10 kensai 14 mage and haven't even gotten the key to go to Linvail

Well, you could always kill him and use his corpse to open the door. Now that is going solo!

I tried that at first but it didn't work for some reason.

You must be of Evil alignment to use his dead body to open the sphere.

As far as I'm concerned it's still a valid solo as long as the character doesn't help you at all. Noone is really checking on you anyway.

I let Nalia tag along in the shadows WAY out of the action while I went through her keep and showed her how a real thief does things. The one time she got involved at all actually made things harder since I was hiding just fine but she ended up with a troll chasing her.
