How do you deactivate Defensive Combat?

I must be missing something. I can activate Defensive or Offensive Combat easily, but I can't figure out how to turn it off. I don't need it when doing Archery but its still sapping my endurance. How do I turn off Defensive or Offensive Combat?

I never tried turning them off, but I thought they were toggles. Did you try selecting offensive or defensive combat a second time, to see if that turns them off?

I've tried clicking on them to the cows come home. I would have thought the easy way would be to click on the icon in the shortcut boxes at the bottom - this does nothing. If there's a way to "toggle" them I'm all ears!

If you are using ranged weapon, clicking Defensive Combat icon dosen't works.
To toggle Defensive Combat on-off put your ranged weapon aside.

But i wonder if you use ranged combat weapon you cannot parry any attack so you will not waste any endurance.
