I upgraded to 7 but that program also lets me play XP also.
I have been playing a couple of games that were for XP From Microsft.
But I keep gettting an alarm when I try to play the WITCHER.
IT keps telling me that whitcher has ecounted a problem and then I send in an erro report.
HAS anyone seen this ?Is it normal ?Is there anything I can do to get witcher up and running
THANK WHiteTAIL

You might have more luck on the Windows 7 forums as I'm not sure how many people on GameBanshee have actually upgraded to W7 yet.

A quick search on google came up with this thread

Windows 7 probs

I did not get an error after installing TW on Windows 7. I did change the program to "Run as Administrator" and set the compatibility to Windows 2000. The only problem that I experienced after that was the game would crash as I was saving. Turns out there is a command to increase virtual(?) memory from the command prompt. I put virtual in quotes because I know what virtual memory is and how to set it through the GUI interface, but this was a specific command from the prompt that could be used in Vista and Windows 7. The article detailing this can be found here: Witcher Vista Crash Fix | TechiePortal - Alfred's Tech Blog

Windows 7

I am running "Windows 7 utimate" and am having no problems with running all games from Baldur's Gate through Morrowind, Obliion and now The Witcher.

My understanding is that these games don't run well on the "Home" version of windows 7

I noticed that my copy of The Witcher Enhanced Version did not say it could be used by Windows 7. I am playing it on a new machine that only has Windows 7 and so far it has not caused any problem. You might want to check if your computer is capable of playing this program, if you have not already done so.
