Here I was rolling along, forgot to save for two floors...and BAM!!! The world came down around my ears and so now it's time to get a food break and go replay a couple of hours worth of work.

Lesson of the day: Save early, save often.

Yeah, they mean it when they hint that you really shouldn't play the game solo, and that you'll need to either set up careful AI behaviors or do a lot of tactical micromanagement. It's not BG2/SoA, in that respect.

The scripts are very nice and very customizable. I've been trying them out a lot. However, for boss or mini boss battles, I like to take control into my own hands.

Haven't tried the scripts--might, but probably not. I don't trust them. I'd much rather micromanage. Then I have no one to blame except myself, and that's just fine with me.

F9, I think, is the 'quick save'. It's a life saver. I detest having to go back and do things over.

Haven't played much with the scripts but really like the 'case >/= else/or' approach. The fact that you spend points on increasing combat tactics either makes it that much more viable or that much more hassle/unreliable.

I'm really curious to see the kinds of success folks have with the party AI scripts. Even with the scripts, there will be micromanagement to be had with every encounter but it would be nice to see the game flow uninterrupted during less challenging battles.

F5 is the quick saver, F9 is the quick load, I believe. Accidentally using F9 would be...rather more disheartening. ;)

the Scripts are a nice catch all mechanism, but no replacement for human touch. They can definitely save your ass given a brief oversight, but should not be relied on solely.

I find they work better with the tank and main DPS, as they are often far less complicated builds to run, while it is often better to handle your mages personally.

Essentially how I've been playing the battles. Mage spells are easier and more efficient to micro, whereas having the rest on auto with a few skills thrown in seems to work quite well.
