And the 5th character is...(predict the 5th character to be announced)

Hi everyone,
Just to state that I am looking forward to D3's release. Regardless of whether it will be more colourful, less gritty blah blah....Blizzard always cranks out great games so absolutely looking forward to it. (got that out of the way)
I have 2 predictions....a Ranger or Skirmisher of some sort as 5th character (if Ranger would be a mix or range attacking and animal campanion - like a bear or wolf - therefore picking up where the Druid left off in D2)
...or something vastly different like some sort of athlete like character that throws javelins or spears...
What are your guys picks?

They brought the Monk from Hellfire, so maybe the Bard is next?

No, Blizard stated the 5th class would be an archer of some type. Maybe a rogue.

Could be a Rogue....hope not though...a little bit predictable then.
Something completely different would be great...like the Shaman.
Why not something like Knife thrower or Javelin/Spear throwing Hunter or something.....
I get a little bit bored with the arrow thingy....if they are going down that track I hope they come up with a set of skills that are creative and different.

I was hoping for an bow archer that can summon pets, as you said. Would have to have a good arrow and pet set, though.

If any of you were to watch the Jace Hall show on IGN you would know it's a Bard.

Are you kidding or hinting on what someone has leaked? Not fair!
If it is a Bard that would also be very cool.
Bard's from the D&D world have normally been under powered or at least used as a team buffer rather than a stand alone character.
So if they go down this track maybe we could be looking at a character whose sole role is more along the lines of buffing a team rather than a solo character?
Negative note - would be hard to level by yourself
Positive note - you would be a very sought after character to be part of a group
Also if it is a Bard does this mean that they would have instruments as items?
After all this thought on the concept of having a Bard as the 5th character I would presume that Salidin was kidding...a Bard character would make a lot more work for Blizzard to accomodate for within the existing Diablo 3 game dynamics and engine....that is if they are making a Bard the way a Bard has has been made in previous RPG games....

So if Bard is indeed the next choice, is there anything special for making an accurate prediction? If not, I guess bragging rights will have to be sufficient.

Just watch the vid link and you'll understand, but be warned it is not for children

I could see a Bard as being the next class, we already have two melee classes and two magic damage dealers, so a ranged bow and arrow class that uses auras and buffs seems logical to me.

I could give two ***** about WOW as well.
But honestly, I don't think the video is real.

THANK YOU!!! Now that was the actual Blizzard Diablo 3 dev team, but the stuff about the 5th class is all crap, however the female monk has proven to be true. Most of the stuff in that show is the real people but made up crap with some exclusive content thrown in, like the female monk pics (he did not actually steal them).

Cool, well thats been sorted. I am hoping not for a Bard but instead something unusual...not an archer or bowazon remake...but something like a knife thrower, spear/javalin thrower or slinger even.
Just soooo sick of the boring predictable classes....
Barbarian I can understand for cross over of the story from Arreats Summit destruction onwards....however Wizard? This could have had a far more imaginative name (I would have thought)....
Witch Doctor and Monk are fine.
I just hope upon hope that they come up with something original.

The fifth character is called a Demon Hunter. It has ranged attack capabilities along with some other stuff. I'm sure any fan site will have more details.

@DaveO
yuanyelss is a spambot, fairly crafty one at that but all it did was copy the post of Gartar above and then sneak in an advertisement.
Gotta say, that's devious.
