Shadow Ruins - Front Door Locked !!!

I only played the game twice, but I really pulled a newbie. I have the CE edition, put the Shadow Stone on the altar, and wanted to do some other stuff before entering the Shadow Ruins. When I came back, the Shadow Stone is still on the altar, but I can no longer get in through the front door. The "shadow gate" is gone.
Any body know how to reenable the gate? At this point, I don't care if it's a hack or not. I just want to finish out this character. Please help.

If anybody ever figured out how to use the save game editor to change your position to inside the ruins, I don't remember seeing it. So you might just have to go back to a saved game from before placing the shadow stone on the altar.

I guess i "pulled a newbie" too. I went into the shadow ruins, left to go recharge my stuff then saved the game. Now i can't get back in. is there no way to do this? unfortunately after i saved i went in a different direction and it's been a week since the shadow ruins. so i have no games saved from before the error GRRRRRRR
any ideas?

After a lot of research...
Okay, I originally started the thread and did a lot of research. First, there is no way to get back in just via the game interface. You could try and use the DL Game Editor v1.56a and move your character into the Shadow Ruins. I tried many times and was unsuccessful.
What I ended up doing is starting a NEW Multiplayer game and loading my saved character. I essentially started the game over from scratch with the same player. The problem with this approach is that I ran into some issues with the game not working as expected. I couldn't get past the Elven fort. I went to the tower to get the Mark of the Ordained, but everything was "empty" and the top of the tower didn't let me select anything.
The work around was to go the long way to Arindale via the Talendar/lake route.
