Some technology in Campaign

I'm getting into the groove of the campaign, geographical world is build, but I was thinking I would like some tech more than normal. I decided to base of steampunk somewhat. The problem is I don't want to incorperate all of it. I'm asking now what people would have as tech in this situation, I know I want airships to exist but not be common. I want to incorperate the gearstyle for gnome and dwarf engineers. Im planning on It being a craft skill.
