Swashbuckler issue

Hey guys - I was doing some testing using the console to see what a swashbuckler would be like in the end game, and I can't for the life of me figure out what is going on here... I put (++) in katanas, and yet my attacks per round are still "1" while wearing celestial fury. I even maxed my exp to see if it ever changed, and it did not. Here are some screens to show what I'm talking about it.

Non-Warrior classes are limited to 1 weapon attack per round. It's a hardcoded issue. Your Swashbuckler gets the +1 to hit & +2 to damage, and ofcourse, he gets an extra attack if he uses two weapons, or weapons that give extra attacks, etc. His class, however, will only ever grant 1 attack.

If you take whirlwind HLAs you'll have 10 attacks per round even without dualwielding.

I think the thing you show us here, is one of the major problems with the swashbuckler class, it is a weak version of the fighter/thief

I think that the Swashbuckler class was badly nerfed in BG2, but was fixed by the
Rogue Rebalancing mod.

Really? I had absolutely no problem with the swashbuckler kit. I was able to solo the game without any problems or difficulties. Aside from the fact that the class is good in melee as is, it can easily hit the AC cap, and that's not even mentioning spell protections and the offensive power that it gets from wants. If you want to increase your attacks, use weapons that grand bonus attacks per round or use Whirlwind, as kmonster suggested.

Belm & Scarlet Ninja 2 and you've got 4 attacks per round! Plus very good thaco and AC. Also as mentioned you can get load up on Wirlwinds for HLA's. I think the Swashbuckler class is great! Wish they had an NPC Swashbuckler in the game.
There is a french Mod "Kim" thats a Swashbuckler which I really enjoyed. Its only SOA, has no flirt pack, the voicing is in french and the romance kind of ends like they were going to make a TOB part leaving things at the yes we're about to get really serious stage, but she's a very interesting character that has alot of interjections, a really cool original quest, some of the best Romance conflicts with the biogals that I've seen (including calling Aerie a Nympho, LOL), she starts with a very usefull item plus you get a couple other ones during her quest. She's very young and comes across as being super tough early on but the truth is she's scared to death of trusting a man enough to have a relationship especial one she likes like the PC and she's pretty cute with her bumbling attempts at hiding this from the PC since it seems she's mainly spent her time as a pitrate chasing men away at the edge of her sword. Anyway if you have the time its a fun Mod even if it seems like its kind of left unfinshed.

You could probably just boost your attacks per round with Shadowkeeper.

Actually I maxed a swashbuckler and fighter/theif with cheats just to see who was more powerful, and while the the fighter/theif had more attacks per round, and slight better thaco (I think by 2), the swashbuckler seemed much more powerful overall. he had WAY better AC, and seemed to hit much harder because of the +1 damage ever 5 levels. And then add whirlwind to the mix and I really think the swash is much more powerful in the end.
Back to my original post though - it sucks that theifs are limited to 1 attack per round.. I thought that the ++ in a weapon type would guarantee another 1/2 attack like the description of ++ says.

Like I said earlier, it's an engine-issue. It *should* work like you said, but it can't in the vanilla game.
