I just completed the urn questline on my second character and I wonder about that brazier in ruined temple. Is there any reason to light it up ?

I did so on both playthroughs but in hindsight I wonder if there actually was a reason to do so. Sure, I got a codex entry on the purpose of the brazier, but that didn't really answer why I actually lighted the thing.

Has anyone neglected lighting it and can tell me what the consequences of that would be ?

I was under the impression that lighting it unlocked a door you needed to proceed, but then I didn't really pay much attention - I just lit it and carried on lol
